Some Christians do have misunderstanding about the Church's
involvement for peace. They consider the Church's work for peace as something that
has nothing to do with her mission which is the proclamation of the Word of God. It is
not an integral part of her evangelizing mission. They, then, reject the Church's
involvement for peace. Nevertheless, this article argues that the Church’s work for
peace can not and should not be separated from her mission. It is magisterial grounded
and based upon the Social doctrine of the Church. The Church firmly believes that her
work for peace is and should always be a constitutive dimension of the salvific mission
which is initiated by God, exercised by Christ, and continued by the Holy Spirit. It is
due to her participation in the salfivic mission of God that the Church involves herself
in working for peace in the world. The Church's involvement is manifested in a variety
of ways and forms.
