Abstract

Female subordination is one of gender injustices. This article will unfold the roots of such subordination respectively from anthropological, religious and psychological perspectives. Anthropologically, the subordination of female stems from the history of familial changes in terms of managing personal properties and their inheritance that has a significant impact on the exchange of the sphere of family which is from female-dominated family to the male-dominated family. From this lens, the subordination has roots in the notion of the ultimate concern. There is a change of concern from female deity (goddess) to the male deity (god). Psychologically, the term is related to the mechanism of human sublimation which the fear of man dominates himself in the prehuman time.
