KEMISKINAN MENURUT PERSPEKTIF LIVELIHOOD

Abstract

Livelihood is a perspective of rural society development charactered by 
an ongoing development. This perspective speaks also on various human capital and a 
certain strategy giving possibility to a person or a group of people to find their way out 
from some pressing and turbulent situation in order to live out their life in a better manner 
continuously. By having human capital, one or a group of people could develop the coping 
strategy that help them to escape from such a bad situation that can make them down and 
become poor. Therefore, the livelihood perspective suggests that one or a group of people 
in developing the coping strategy need to establish networking continuously through a 
small-scale effort of economy in order to gain diversification, intensification, and 
extensification. Based on facts that have been experienced in other places in the world, this 
perspective is actually helpful to the commoners, particularly to the rural families which 
avoiding them from some pressing and turbulent situation in their life and providing them 
space for developing their livelihood continuously. This is a qualitative research by 
studying literature in order to explore the basic ideas of some scholars, and livelihood 
approach that has been practicing in other states in the world.
