KESEMPURNAAN MANUSIA, IMAN dan ILMU PENGETAHUAN

Abstract

The basic scientific research is a significant expression of human 
dominion over creation.  Science is precious resource when it is placed in the service of 
human beings and promotes their integral development.  Science, however, cannot 
disclose the meaning of the existence and of human progress.  Science is managed by 
human beings, from whom takes its origin and its development. It finds moral values 
persons both as evidence of its purpose and awareness of its limits. Science must be at 
the service of humanity which must be compatible with the plan and the will of God. 
The question of the origin of the world and of human beings has been the object of 
many scientific studies which have splendidly enriched our knowledge regarding of the 
age and the dimension of the cosmos, the development of the form life and the 
appearance of human being.  These discoveries invite us to greatly admire for the 
greatness of the Creator. They prompt us to give thanks to him for all his works and for 
the understanding and wisdom which he gives to scholars and researchers. Human 
intelligence is surely capable of finding a response to the question of origin.  The 
existence of God the Creator can be known with certainty through his works, by means 
of human reason, even if this knowledge is often obscured and disfigured by error.  That 
is why faith comes to confirm and enlighten reason in a correct understanding of this 
truth: 'By faith we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that 
what is seen was made out of things which do not appear.' (Hebrews 11:3)
